Hello & Happy New Year To all !

I have a WU That has remained @ 100.01%
The WU - CPU TIME - 4.56.51 Completed

The WU just continuously runs without any change to computational time ( Unchanged in 24hrs ) even though shows it's completed.

I'm using boinc core version - 5.10.28

Result ID 7541180
Name wu_1198123201_9862_0
Workunit 2858121
Created 1 Jan 2008 11:22:07 UTC
Sent 1 Jan 2008 11:22:15 UTC
Received ---
Server state In Progress
Outcome Unknown
Client state New
Exit status 0 (0x0)
Computer ID 36584
Report deadline 8 Jan 2008 11:22:15 UTC
CPU time 0
stderr out

Validate state Initial
Claimed credit 0
Granted credit 0
application version ---

I thought i'd bring this matter to your attention rather than just abort the work unit.

The credit received is a bonus for each completed work unit but the successfull completion and the safe return of any completed WU's to yourselves that has been given to me to crunch matters more to me!

Even though it's tying up one of the cpu's on my Compaq Evo workstation.

Any suggestions ?

Kind Regards,

John Gray

This wu is acting a little odd as well. It has crunched for 16+ hours now and still going. For a long while, it has been showing as 100.001% complete for at least the last hour, possibly longer, (was out so couldn't look at the screen). I have suspended it for now - advice?

Same with this wu.
If I restart boinc, the wu starts counting again at 99.8% or so, counts to 100% in 10 seconds, and then stays there for hours.
Recently I also get a lot of "client errors". Looking at the result pages, the errors mainly are "Maximum CPU time exceeded" and:

Unhandled Exception Detected...

- Unhandled Exception Record -
Reason: Breakpoint Encountered (0x80000003) at address 0x7C901230

Engaging BOINC Windows Runtime Debugger...

Edit: it's on all my clients, both linux and windows afaik. I noticed something was wrong when my daily credit dropped from 30 K to 8K ...

I had a similar problem which was resolved when I reset the project. It seems the new version of the Classical application gets stuck without a project reset?

I've the same Problem with this WU
rid=7681611
Progress bar shows 100.000% since 6 Hours runtime.
Runtime now 24:35 Hours
Boinc 5.10.30 on Win XP SP2 with Intel P4

I'll try to reset the project too

Update: reset of the project works not so good for me, CPU time for the result is lost and i get an other result to crunch. Result 7681611 isn't reported to the project as aborted. Client state is always New.

I have 4 WUs in a similar state (all Classical 5.51 on BOINC 5.10.20):

WU_164284800_1199868914_4163_0 (2:26:08 @ 100.000%)
WU_878976128_1200302872_1032_0 (20:26:18 @ 100.001%)
WU_898976128_1200302872_583_1 (14:56:03 @ 100.001%)
WU_78596477_1200302872_494_0 (16:43:49 @ 100.000%)

I've suspended all Classical WUs for the moment.

H'mmmm, this is worrying... tried to update the Classical app this week to remove a possible GPF on windows... Do you guys see the screensaver render at that point? Or does it show the 'boinc idle' logo thing... What could be going on is that the worker thread is waiting until the graphics thread is finished and at a certain point the graphics thread is killed making the worker thread wait for a semaphore being cleared all the time after the calc. has finished... If this is the case, I have a serious race-condition I cannot resolve neatly...

Please let me know...

I just re-enabled my wu and gave it a minute or two execution to see what the graphics is doing. It is either a black cat down a coalmine at night, or a blank screen.

Suspended the wu again, but can re-enable to play with it if there is anything useful that can be done. The trajtou wu I had seems to be crunching normally. I have set Leiden as "No New Work" for now.

It is Classic 5.51 on BOINC 5.10.30 Win XP Intel Q6600 no overclock, leave in memory, no graphics, (normally!).

I have subscribed to the thread, so will get a nudge if anything needs doing. It has a deadline of 22/01 at a minute to midnight.

Well, I had one 5.51 which compute errored, another which aborted on a max CPU time, and a few which were running at the time.

I experimented on one which was indicating around 12 hours of compute time and stuck at 100% by suspending and it's indicated time dropped to around 2 1/2 hours but still showed 100%.

In any event, I then started rooting through my host lists and couldn't find any other hosts which had successfully run a 5.51 paired up with me and since 5.52 is now shown as the current app, I aborted all the Classical tasks linked to 5.51 on my hosts.

I see you have removed the last fix. Is there any point me holding onto this wu, or should I abort it now?

Just a note on the lighter side.

I got a couple of the tasks which were linked to the 5.51 app which I aborted get reassigned to the same host.

In both cases I saw, the 5.52 app ran fine with no problems. :-D
