Well, looks like I\'ll have to stop crunching for Leiden on my Athlon XP until you can sort out the homogenous redundancy. The XP often gets paired with a dual core Athlon X2 or Athlon 64, giving an invalid result. Waste of CPU time.

I\'ll put it to work on other projects where I have not experienced these problems with that same computer.

I\'m getting my (un?)fair share of zero credits. In almost all cases it\'s where my computer (Athlon XP 3000+) is the third to return a result.

It seems the validator sometimes grants credit on the basis of TWO results. Then when the third comes in, it is marked invalid with zero credit.

Perhaps something to look into - is the third result really invalid? Is there a bug in the validator that just marks results invalid when they come in after credit has been granted to other computers?

Another item for the wish-list...

The search for teams at http://boinc.gorlaeus.net/team.phpis currently set up as \"Search for teams whose name start with\"

I\'d like that to be changed to \"Search for teams whose name contains\"

Searching for Australia does not bring up my team name (BOINC@Australia) as it does not start with \"Australia\". I expect similar issues exist for other teams, like SETI@Netherlands, BOINC@Poland, Seti.Germany, LeidenClassical@China etc.

We could of course change our team name, but that will confuse our 500+ members.

I\'m not familiar with mySQL and PHP, but if it\'s anything like VBScript and MS Access, it should not be hard to change the SQL query. SETI have already done it.

And I have Australian friends who would not understand a word of it. But at least I have tried it too :-)

Anyway... Talking of Aussies. The Australian team has been set up on this project and is eagerly awaiting your contribution. We have not yet added this project on our website as the project developer does not want it advertised too much yet. But since you\'re already here, come and join the biggest Aussie BOINC team, BOINC@Australia.

Website: http://www.boinc-australia.net/
Join us on Leiden Classical

And for my Dutch friends and relatives: Nederlanders zijn ook van harte welkom :-)

Mark,

I asked for the account key to be re-sent and it\'s come through now. But I don\'t need two accounts. I have renamed the unused one (105) to \"Duplicate\" (feel free to delete it).

I have seen 2 \"Invalid\" results on slower computer (P3, Celeron) calculated correctly...

I\'ve had a few of them on my Athlon XP 3000+ too. But how do you know they were calculated correctly?

Server state:Over
Outcome:Success
Client state:Done

Does not mean it\'s correct, just that the job has been completed. It must NOT have been calculated correctly (unless there\'s a bug in the validation process), as it also says Validate state:Invalid

Can you switch to validate after 3 results first (middle value)?

Also, on the other projects they have a setting to not have the same work computed by any computer from the same user within the quorum. I have just finished one work unit twice on the same computer and got credit for both.

See http://boinc.gorlaeus.net/workunit.php?wuid=19329

Hey, I like it - no waiting for others, but what if the one computer gets it wrong twice.

Here\'s one where this could happen: http://boinc.gorlaeus.net/workunit.php?wuid=19290

The mail \'problem\' I do not understand yet, other people have received their mail. Have to ask the network admin here about that...

Just for info, I run my own mail server here (on my \"workstation\", which also hosts a number of websites) and have seen no connections from leidenuniv.nl at all. So it sounds like the emails haven\'t been sent. Might be sitting in a queue somewhere as it happened when you had the database issues?

Should be fixed now...

I got one of my computers attached and received my first few work units, so it seems to be working.

Still haven\'t received the account key though for my first attempt at signing up, via the website. You might want to look into whether there\'s a problem.

I managed to sign up with a secondary email address (and password) direct through BOINC (you could delete the other account for \"Webmaster Yoda\" - user ID 105). i think others have done the same, as there are more duplicate names.
