Then I can only say that you do not have the 32 bit libglut.so.3 library...

You might try for future issues the 'file' command on the lib:

mark::/home/mark>file /usr/local/lib/libglut.so.3.8.0
/usr/local/lib/libglut.so.3.8.0: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), not stripped
mark::/home/mark>file /usr/lib64/libglut.so.3.8.0
/usr/lib64/libglut.so.3.8.0: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, AMD x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), stripped

See the difference ?!

m.

Checked this and you are right Marc. I only have the 64 bit version.
However, since apt-get does not work, since it tells me everything is up-to-date, it is unclear to me how the get also the 32 bit version. Already tried to google it and so but no success.

Kind regards

Alain

Okay... but:

mark::/home/mark>cat /etc/ld.so.conf
/lib64
/lib
/usr/lib64
/usr/lib
/usr/local/lib64
/usr/local/lib
include ld.so.conf.d/*.conf

is what I have...

m.

OK, reattached, added the missing lines to my ld.so.config, did a new sudo ldconfig...
Still to no avail.

Kind regards

Then try 'locate libglut.so.3' to see if the file does exist... otherwise check out the /etc/ld.conf file, edit it if needed and then do an 'ldconfig' as root...

m.

Thanks for the help offered Marc. Tried it. There is no /etc/ld.conf file... And before we go even deeper into the weeds, your colleagues from ABC just brought out their 64-bit science app, so switching to that one. Now I have also on my AMD64 box 3 projects running (best option I believe if one wants to avoid work shortage): ABC and Predictor 64-bit and WCG, still 32-bit app but definately faster on this box.
And do not worry, Leiden continues on 2 of my Windows boxes.

Thanks again, and all the best to you and the project.

Have you tried the 'ldd' command on the executable you get from Leiden Classical ?! That gives you a list like http://boinc.gorlaeus.net/Graphical_libs.php which show's you exactly what's there and what's not...

m.

Thanks for the help.
The ldd showed that everything was there except
libglut.so.3 => not found

So, as found in this thread some messages down, I added a symbolic link in /usr/lib32, followed by an ldconfig.

But running ldd again still gives the same result?!
libglut.so.3 => not found

Met vriendelijke groeten (Dutch crypto for Kind regards)

Same problem here on Ubuntu 6.17.10-generic on a AMD64 3400+ 15580 with additionally ia32-libs installed. Two times three WU loaded up fine but bombed out immediately, all with exit code 127. Suspended for now.
The also 32-bit from malaria seems to be running fine.

Whilst crunching this WU, 1520936, I noticed that the clock seemed to run at half speed.
And indeed, checking the processes on my AMD X2 4200+ with XP SP2 and 5.6.4, found out that McShield took away about 23/24%, with 50% for a SAP WU and the rest for Leiden.
Any ideas?

Kind regards

Alain
