Posted 2045 days ago by Pav Lucistnik Ah, I see. That database output looks about right. Is it a problem to have several strings per platform? I don't know if you're using workunit grouping per platform and such features. In ideal world, these four strings would cover 100% of FreeBSD users: i386-portbld-freebsd i386-unknown-freebsd amd64-portbld-freebsd amd64-unknown-freebsd On the related note - why is my client (i386-portbld-freebsd, host 20534) reporting "Message from server: (your platform is not supported by this project)" constantly? |

Posted 2046 days ago by Pav Lucistnik We might have a misunderstanding here. I claimed 99% of FreeBSD users are not running Leiden now, because their boinc-client reports "portbld" platform. Thus this platform should be added as an alias. Existing 35 hosts comprise 1% of the potential. Or you have 35 hosts reporting "portbld" platform now? |

Posted 2046 days ago by Pav Lucistnik Who requested me to rename the arch to 'i386-portbld-freebsd' so it would work directly for port compiles ? That was me. We have a case of catch 22 here. There are few FreeBSD users, because it's hard to run Leiden on FreeBSD. We will not make it easier for perspective FreeBSD users to run Leiden, because there is so few FreeBSD machine currently attached. What we do now? |

Posted 2200 days ago by Pav Lucistnik BTW where you pulled sources from? I don't think boinc does source releases. I roll my own source tarballs from CVS repo... |

Posted 2200 days ago by Pav Lucistnik Yep I did... Thats because I needed the lib to link against for the scientific app... I'm curious, which lib is needed? The port installs /usr/local/lib/libboinc.a /usr/local/lib/libboinc_api.a /usr/local/lib/libboinc_zip.a plus the GUI bits. Also a set of header files is installed. |

Posted 2201 days ago by Pav Lucistnik I myself obtained the i386-unknown-FreeBSD6.2 target string when I compiled the client ?! Weird... Because you compiled it on your own from source using ./configure; make; make install, instead of going with Ports, right? |

Posted 2201 days ago by Pav Lucistnik 99% of users (all those who install boinc client from the official package system) will report i386-portbld-freebsd or amd64-portbld-freebsd. |
